Devuan GNU/Linux installation, upgrades and minimalism

This is the home of my user contributed docs for upgrading, installing, configuring Devuan with minimalism and alternative solutions to upstream forced dependencies.

News

Because of some confusion, here is an update on how your sources.list should look for an up-to-date and secure Devuan. Follow these steps to make sure everything is fine. Thanks to golinux for the shout.

Edit the sources.list:

root@devuan:/# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the correct mirrors, removing any other previous official lines you have:

deb http://auto.mirror.devuan.org/merged jessie main
deb http://auto.mirror.devuan.org/merged jessie-updates main
deb http://auto.mirror.devuan.org/merged jessie-security main

Invoke an upgrade:

root@devuan:/# apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade

That's it, you are up to date :)
