    kbd.init: don't assume /etc/inittab always exists · 27743322

    This is apparently not the case anymore in a standard Jessie install
    (unless/until sysvinit-core is installed, replacing systemd as default
    init). The previous check for systemd should catch us before getting
    here, but better safe than sorry?!
