systemd references in scripts
In many debian scripts ( like, for example, update-rc.d ) there are many references on systemd unit files and so on. For the moment it's ok to release as is, and for jessie probably it's better to let us release this way, but for unstable and ascii we should get rid of all systemd references on those scripts? or maybe we should introduce checks and make the systemd related parts of the scripts to be executed only is systemd is installed?
As for init freedom logic we should not remove them as they don't cause issues in devuan and provide a fallback to people that want to install systemd, even by hands, but should we have systemd unit files on the system where we don't support it?
